Where It All Began

GREAT PEACE FOR CHILDREN NEEDS IN TANZANIA (GPC Tanzania) was founded by Pastor Laurent Bwire who experienced firsthand the challenges of being an orphan.

Having lost both parents at a young age, Pastor Laurent knows the hardships that vulnerable children face. Through God's grace and the support of his community, he was able to overcome these challenges and achieve his own education and spiritual development.

This personal journey inspired him to create an organization that would provide the same opportunity for other children in need. What started as a small ministry using his modest income has grown into a registered organization serving over 120 children across three regions of Tanzania.

Today, GPC Tanzania stands as a beacon of hope for orphans, needy children, and those living in difficult environments. We provide comprehensive support through education, healthcare, nutrition, and spiritual guidance to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Journey

From humble beginnings to a thriving organization, our timeline reflects our growth and commitment to Tanzania's children.

2015

The Seed Was Planted

After completing his theological studies, Pastor Laurent Bwire began supporting a small number of orphaned children from his own resources. This personal ministry laid the foundation for what would later become GPC Tanzania.

2019

First Community Outreach

Pastor Laurent expanded his efforts beyond individual support, organizing community outreach programs to identify and assist orphaned and vulnerable children in Dar es Salaam. These initial programs focused on providing basic necessities like food, clothing, and school supplies.

2021

Official Establishment

GREAT PEACE FOR CHILDREN NEEDS IN TANZANIA was officially registered as a non-governmental organization. With formal recognition came the ability to establish structured programs and seek partnerships to expand our impact.

2022

Expanding Our Reach

GPC Tanzania extended operations to two additional regions beyond Dar es Salaam, bringing support to rural communities where vulnerable children often have even fewer resources available to them.

2023

Comprehensive Programs

We established our six core programs: Nutrition, Education Support, Healthcare Initiative, Hygiene & Sanitation, Spiritual Mentorship, and Safe Shelter Program. These interconnected initiatives now form the foundation of our holistic approach to child development.

Today

Growing Impact

Today, GPC Tanzania serves over 120 children across three regions, with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We continue to expand our programs and partnerships to reach more children in need throughout Tanzania.
